  • "Predicting Performance" Article in Kitplanes Magazine by our own Jared Yates!

Excellent article in this month's (April 2015) issue of Kitplanes magazine Jared about the "fly off" period and building data for performance charts.

The amount of effort you dedicate to experimental aircraft building, the Bearhawk name and this forum is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the kind words John! Be sure to tell the folks at Kitplanes that you enjoyed it too so that they'll be inclined to have more articles like that.

I'm a couple of months behind in my mag stack but I'll definitely jump ahead to this article and read it when I get home. I echo John that all of the work you do for the community is loved and welcomed.

Today I realized the price for John T Lowry's book Performance of Light Aircraft is much more reasonable. Last time I looked they were almost impossible to find under $900, but today I snagged a copy on Amazon for $70.

I'm not finding it much under $350. You must have a much better search tool :-(

If we could talk the publisher into making another run, how many folks would be interested?

I just poked on Amazon and ebay and perhaps what I was seeing was from the same seller. I admit the book is heavier on the theory side than I expected but that's the necessary backbone to his calculations. I did inquire with AIAA when all I found were 4-digit reseller prices, and AIAA said they're not aware of any other publisher printing copies. She did however give me a list of similar titles:
