  • Top skin overhang

I am currently trimming wing skins for final size. I still don't have a set plan for wingtips yet, so I'd like to know if there is a safe number to use for how much the skin overhangs the tip-rib?

Eric has mentioned 5/8" for the screw-on fibreglass tips. Is this a reasonable number or can someone make a different/better suggestion?

I plan on leaving an inch. It's always easier to trim off what you don't need than to add what is missing :-)

Agreed. It is an easy trim. It leaves options open and gives some flexibility when the time comes to mount the wingtips.
