  • Linseed oil selection question.....

OK this may be a "stupid" question.... but here goes anyway.....
I happen to be aware from wood working--- that there are 2 kinds of linseed oil. One kind is designed to harden and has heavy metal catalyst drying agents. This is the kind for
wood working. The "other" type does not have the heavy metal driers and will always remain a liquid (basically).

Which kind is used inside the steel tube structures ? My impression is the "liquid forever" type --- but I never thought about it - now remembering that there are 2 kinds...….

I can't answer your question, but I thought the advantage of linseed oil is that it will actually seal small holes. I used the polyfiber oil. Before doing that I pressurized the fuselage to find and repair voids.

As long as we're on the topic, is it good practice to make weep holes between segments so the oil will run throughout the entire structure, or does one drill-and-fill each segment?

I drilled 1/8" holes to connect all the major tubing in the fuselage
