  • Flap/Trim Wheel console

I mounted my trim wheel next to the flap handle, I have never cared for overhead trim actuators. I decided I wanted to cover the mechanisms to help prevent jamming with objects that might be dropped. Made the cover with 4 layers of 2x2 carbon twill. Total weight 8 oz. It is plenty sturdy and small enough that it doesn't interfere with pilot/passengers legs or feet. As you can see I also extended the flap handle about 5" as others have done.

          Rod,

Nice work, check out McMaster Carr...brush strip. Might help with keeping the in-flight snacks out of the mechanisms

I remember back in 2008-09 Ron Burleigh did something similar. Here are a few photos that I saved from Ron's installation that might help others that are thinking about doing something similar.
