What about a 3/16 roll pin, with a loop of lockwire through it so it can't fall out? With the rod end version of the pushrod, just torque the bolt down... -

Mark - when you say you do this bolt up "snug", I assume that means you have a rod end at the front of the pushrod as well?

When we drill off and install the windows in at my work, the rule of thumb is torque the screws until you can just see the light reflected off the transparency... -

Yeah, mine has 5 bolt holes as well. All the holes in the mount are 3/8" diameter, but the top centre cluster on the airframe is only 5/16"....
