Rudder and Elevator Hinge Covering Blocks

Lars from Oratex provided good idea to seal area around hinges with a balsa block flooded with CA before covering. Idea is to prevent oil/grease from getting under fabric which can easily occur with simple sheet metal trim pieces. I made these from low infil ABS-GF. They are bonded to the tube and work very well.

There are 2 sizes, one for the rudder tube, and one for the elevator tube.
