  • Wing Tips

While I posted pictures of my wing tips and the nav and strobe light mounting I realized I forgot to add one thing. I had bent Plexiglas 1/4" rod to use as a way to monitor if my lights are working from the cockpit.
What I did was drill a hole under each light where it would be under the clear portion of the light. Then bent the rod so it would conform to the wing tip and drilled another hole in the bottom of the wing tip for the rod to protrude through about 3/4". I put a bevel on the rod side facing the cockpit. I then glued the rod to the wing tip.The rod picks up the light from the nav/strobe and reflects it thru the beveled part of the rod to be seen from the cockpit.
I guess I could take credit for this idea but I saw it on a Cessna. IMG_2002.JPGIMG_2006.JPG
