I have a Trutrack ADI (older model) and the battery is dead. I can not seem to figure out how to charge it, or it has a dead cell. Anyway, the replacement batterty from TruTrack is $230 which seems high for a 12v lithium Phorporus battery. So for all of you that understand batteries and electrical stuff better than I, can I use just a rechargeable 12v battery and save some money?. The spec on the back up battery says: 1.1 amp, volts 28 max.

David, is this for experimental use or certified? Are you looking to rebuild the battery pack or build an external supply? IF used for experimental, you can rebuild the pack or build an external power supply. I am not familiar with your trutrack adi so I am not sure how to help out at this time.Joe
