  • SAE 1020 steel?

I'm looking for material for my bearing lugs for the Ail/flap hinges...

Where can I find 1020 steel or what is an acceptable alternative?

According to Onlinemetals.com, it is also known as A513. It is a higher carbon mild steel commonly used for DOM (drawn over mandral, or seamless) steel. Might want to check with Bob so see is 4130 can be subbed if you can't find what the plans call for. Onlinemetals.com have a selection.

I talked with Bob some time ago when I built my ail/flap lugs. He said the more common 1018 steel would be OK.

Thanks Collin. After reading some on steel ratings that was going to be my guess.
