A buddy and i are going to in Oshkosh at the end of the month for the gas welding workshop. I was wondering if anyone has a recommendation for some good eats and a place to shoot some pool? Thanks, Casey Sent from mobile

First, you couldnt get me to OSH this time of year for anything. BRRRRR Try Fratellos on Wisconsin Av. by the river. Also, go up to Appleton to the Ole Bavaria, excellent german food. Have fun

I know it's going to be cold! For the Bearhawk, I'll do anything (it's pretty cold in St. Louis too, -1F in the shop on Monday). I did a Google map search for the Ole Bavaria from our hotel and the directions seem pretty straight forward... Definitely going to try that.

The gas welding workshop was incredibly valuable. I'm eager to practice what I learned and hopefully work up the courage to start welding real airplane parts.

actually it's not. They moved east down college av to downtown and changed their name to Ob's Brau House. Sorry you missed them. Hope you didn't freeze!!!

Hey Casey,

Who did you have as an instructor this year? I've had two (took the course twice). First was Earl Luce (awesome!). Second was a guy I don't recall, but didn't care for him much. All he talked about was TIG and other fairly inappropriate content.

Earl is great because he talked about gas welding specifically and some of the science behind it. Other guy talked about everything but gas welding and you were pretty much on your own to figure it out.
