FYI, now that I have about 10 hours logged in my plans built LSA, I chased down insurance.
For $50K hull and the "typical" $1M/$100K liability, quotes ran from around $1300 to over $2700 with a couple in the $1700 range for this 800TT/700TW SEL Private pilot flying under LSA rules.
The $50K should cover a quick build kit, mid time 0-200 and prop, and most of the other materials needed to build another LSA, though of course it ignores my labor.
As a baseline, my previous plane(a Christavia which is basically a home built Champ) was around $750 for same coverage but only $20K hull.
