  • How would someone go about clipped wings on a patrol?

Thanks to Bob Barrows, Mark Goldberg, Dave Bottita,John Snapp, and X'N cut drawings - I have all of my ribs and spars bent. My next step is cap strips.

I am committed to making the wings according to the plans. But, somewhere I saw someone mention patrol clipped wings. For purely academic purposes - is there a book that describes how the cap strips would be different, or how much shorter the wing would be for the acrobatic category.

I mentioned it over in this thread: http://bearhawkforums.com/forum/bear...e-patrol-fleet

The clipped wing Patrol is an idea from Steve Thompson who was one of the first Patrol builders. When Steve and I talked he mentioned shortening the wing by the leaving off the outboard skin, which I think equates to 2 ribs? I don't have Patrol plans so I don't really know.

If and when he does go about it, I am sure he will discuss the details with Bob.
