  • Fuel tank sight gauge placement

I'm planning out my fuel tanks right now and I don't see info on the sight gauge placments. Does anyone have some rough estimates on the distance apart and or angle they shoudl be at? I know there is some play in there just looking to get it close.

Dan, I'm building a Patrol too. I went with the AVIPRO wing kit which I have pretty much finished. I also purchased their welded tanks, which was a good move. They are a narrow fit through the tank opening, but they do fit. I'll get some measurements on one of the tanks today and forward it. It's a balmy 28 this morning, but going back into the big negatives tonight (-20+ ?). The tanks are stored up in my hangar so I don't ding them. I'll get them after the sun comes up and it get into the 30's. Here is a site that may be of use too. This seems to be a fairly complete description of one way to assemble the site gauge. I was concerned about finding one of the little fuel proof plastic balls (Univair), and found this site. For what it's worth. http://www.donsbushcaddy.com/sitebui...structions.pdf

Thanks that would be great! Where abouts do you live? sounds like about the same weather we are having in St. Paul.

In the Bearhawk Assembly manual there is a small section describing how to build your own sightglass.....the instructions call for a length of aluminum 11 3/4" to 11 7/8" long.
