  • Aileron Cable Pulley Bracket

I have a set of factory made pulley brackets that do not have the 6 degree bend per the service bulletin. Has anyone been able to rebend the old style brackets to the new configuration? I'm concerned about cracking the weld at the doubler area.
    Thanks

If your wing isn't skinned yet you can get on it with a large crescent wrench and bend them. It's hard to do it with wing skinned because you can't get the leverage needed reaching through the inspection holes. I wouldn't worry about cracking them. Steel tolerates it much better than 2024 aluminum. Your other option would be to bolt them to a thick piece of steel plate and get and bend them. Bolting them down first will help maintain the hole spacing for the spar attach. Eric Newton - Long Beach, MS http://mybearhawk.com
