  • Aileron cable pulley above strut

Any Patrol builders out there with photos showing the relationship between the aileron cable pulley at the wing splice and the top end of the wing strut? My mounting brackets (purchased from another builder) are slightly taller than plans and I’m trying to see if that will be an issue with cable clearance entering the strut. I estimate this moves the cable about 1/8" aft from plans. It would be far easier to address this now rather than later, if needed. Thanks!

An 1/8” of an inch shouldn’t make any difference. The important thing here is to ensure the pulley/cable alignment is straight on both lines of movement. The line to the second wing pulley is easy to check. The slanted line to the bottom fuse pulley is the hard one to determine without having it mocked up. You can do a simple mock assembly with a strut and distances etc and see if it’s close. If not, leave the part easily removable so you can adjust it later.

Thank you Steve. There is some misalignment to the other wing pulley (more than an 1/8" offset would create) so I'll have tweak the brackets a bit, but will not scrap them.
