Boot cowl skins

Hey folks, I'm working on my boot cowl and unlike Colin's manual it looks like the skins that came with my kit are pre-match drilled to each other. This is a great time saver, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to get them to go together. No matter which combo of overlaps I try, I get a big lump between the tunnel flange and the bottom skin. I can probably figure out a fix, but want to double check I'm not doing something obviously wrong before I go hacking away. Thanks for any input!
