Hi Brooks, nice to meet you. I'm also thinking about forming ribs. Luckely there are some specialists who can form them for reasonable price. And there is no 4130 in RF, so I have to think about some replacement.

No, ofcourse it can be ordered from the US but the price will be ... . I think of using some stainless tubes.

Here is a link to a discussion of a patrol built in Russia. Post #12 talks about the material they substituted. I have no idea if their substitute was a good or bad decision, so be very careful in researching an alternative to 2024-t3.
