  • 4 place - Patrol and plans source?

Been back and forth between the 4 place and the Patrol, noting that I'd prefer the elbow room of the Patrol, but without 4 seats, 2 of my sons will need to stay behind. Nevertheless, it's been a journey getting to this point after trying to decide between a Bearhawk and a CH750SD.

Where would a Kiwi find a set of plans? Is there an online source?

If your mission is mostly 1 or 2 people, you can’t beat the room and visibility of the Patrol. My buddy has built
both and his 4 place collects dust....but he is mostly single pilot stays close to home type.

plans can be had from Bob: http://mybearhawk.com/bearhawkplans.html

      You also have the Companion
As it's only a matter of CG and loading, you might be able to get 2 kids in the back with no or very few baggages
I was also undecided and Bob told me the companion would be fit for my needs.

It really depends on what you need/want to achieve.

I don't think the Companion is what he is looking for. He likes the elbow room of the tandem and the number of seats in the 4 place. The Companion has neither. The Five adds a couple inches of elbow room to the 4 place. ...and a few inches here; ...and a few inches there...

What are the likley cost-implications of moving from a Patrol to a 5 in terms of minimm recommended engines? I am aware that an engine is the single biggest outlay on any of these designs, but I beleive the 5 place requries a 6 cylinder engine?
