  • "New" doesn't even describe me at this point!

I am beyond new here, if wet behind the ears was new, I haven't even touched the water yet....still a student pilot working towards my ppl. Hoping to be able to take my ticket ride in by the end of the year, depending on what I can finish. The first time I saw a BearHawk I knew it was over for me. I fly 172s for school, 182s and a friends Bonanza anytime I can get my hands on the controls.

Tell us about that Bearhawk you saw, and why you ".....knew it was over."

When I was a student pilot working towards my Private, I was in high school, riding my ten speed out to the airport to work, and everything I earned went on account. I think my mom was pissed....but she kept silent...thought I was going to kill myself. I remember my dad brings dinner out to me on occasions. That was 1981. About the time Reagan fired all the air traffic controllers for going on strike. I closed up shop every night at 8pm in the winter (or sunset in the summer.) On the quiet nights I'd read through a trade-a-plane or a flying magazene. A ride one November night in a J-3 was magical for me. By 2017......no way was I going to do a Super Cub with the specs that Bob's Patrol had.

Welcome to your new addiction. It never leaves you day or night and yes a Bearhawk is the best you can buy for a do all plane. 526BH

            Cool, a fellow Companion builder!

New or not, get in there and build a plane. If I can undertake the challenge anyone can do it

Utah-Jay Thanks! I'm also in UT. I live and work downtown in Salt Lake. I think you're out of Heber? I did some flight training up there with pilot makers maybe a year or two ago. On the waitlist now to join Sopwith Flying Club out of SLC International to finish up my flight training.
