I was vaguely familiar with the click bond system for mounting nutplates, cable tie mounts and even studs on surfaces that aren't conducive to normal attachment. I wanted to mount my pitot/aoa probe mid wing but this ended up putting it under the aileron cable. I needed to make sure the plastic tubing and wiring couldn't interfere with the cable, but didn't wan't to rivet something between the ribs to secure these. I remembered click bonds and found a kit from Aircraft spruce that included 4 cable tie mounts for $18.50. The kit contains everything needed to install the mounts. The adhesive, cleaning wipes, a small square of scotch-brite to remove the finish, and the mounts in fixtures that hold them in place while bonding. The one downside is that the adhesive is two part and comes in a plastic packet that you cut open. Just enough for the 4 mounts, so you need to do all 4 at the same time. I needed two for the pitot probe installation and I used the other two on the fuselage wing root area. I needed attachment points for wiring coming from the wings. I already had installed fabric through the UV coat in this area, wasn't sure how it would work on fabric but seems like I got a very strong bond. To install, after the surface prep you mix the adhesive and coat the base of the mount. The fixtures have a strong adhesive on each end and you attach it to the surface. You then push down on the center of the mount and it clicks into place providing good pressure. You then wait 24 hrs for a full cure before removing the fixture. You can see in the fuselage picture little blue rectangles where the uv coat came off the fabric when removing the fixtures. Probably not a lot of places on a Bearhawk where you would need to use these if you plan ahead, but very convenient if you need some. DSCF0943.JPG
