We bent ours to 70 degrees or so at the sheet metal ship, then closed them over a 3/16" MDF core (with radiused edges) in the press. Amazingly straight when done and at the plans angle. probably other ways to do it, but worked for our two airplanes.
In Bob's book he illustrates the preferred method:
He uses a brake to first bend to the maximum bend around a nose to produce the correct radius. (a nose is required for all bends since a standard brake would make sharp bends )
He then places the bent metal back into the brake and crushes it down to the correct angle.
The only thing I did different was I also put several lengths of 3/16 drill rod to make sure I did not violate the bend radius for 2024.
I do not know if drill rod was necessary, but it seemed like a good idea to me.
