  • What is hard bronze and a source?

i have never worked with bronze and I am not sure of the designation of "hard bronze" . I find bearing bronze, aluminum bronze which seems to be stronger, as well as other alloys. I want to get the right stuff and only enough for 4 caps, 2 for my BH and 2 for my Patrol. Most sources want to sell me a foot or more for a substantial price. 4 inches of rod would be plenty.

    I faced the same problem.

I solved the problem by buying the bearing caps from AviPro Aircraft. Their cost is about the same as a minimum order of brass from McMaster-Carr and I felt it was a very fair price given that I could make the parts myself

      I had the same issue.

I ended up making the pieces mainly of 4130 (came in a "welding practice " box from Spruce) with an inner pressed in bearing bronze shouldered sleeve.

Not to plans so at your own risk but it is detailed in my LSA fuselage build log.
