    Downturned Exhaust Tips? Aiming Exhaust?

I was getting some significant CO readings with the exhaust parallel to the tunnel. It was exactly as you stated Paul... Exhaust was leaking through the gear struts. I lowered the stacks and added turned down (22.5 degree) tips that I bought from Clint. Problem solved.

Heading to Oshkosh / Airventure 2022

Nev Here is the weatherstripping I used. I hope you can see it. Works very well so far. I bought this at the local home remodeling center (Home Depot).

Heading to Oshkosh / Airventure 2022

At the Bearhawk booth the morning after the thunderstorms came through. The Bearhawk was a bit damp on the inside. Last year it was soaked and Mark showed me where I needed weatherstripping at the top of the cargo door. That helped tremendously.

Heading to Oshkosh / Airventure 2022

We made it to Rock Falls, Illinois with stops in Chillicothe, Ohio and Logansport, Indiana for fuel and stretch breaks. Pretty strong headwinds gave us ground speeds as low as 89mph. Woke up this morning (4am) in Rock Falls to severe T-Storms in the area. 70mph winds predicted. So we will not...

Heading to Oshkosh / Airventure 2022

Today (7/21) I departed Lake Norman Airpark (14A), (just north of Charlotte, NC) for the first leg of my trip to Oshkosh. I headed north to spend the night in Louisa, Virginia (KLKU) where I will pick up my friend Scott Brady. Scott flew with me last year and is a great co-pilot / navigator...

    Broken Tail Flying Wire

Battson Using my iPhone, I was able to capture some grainy pictures of the broken ends of the streamlined wire. There is an obvious crack(s). This would have been difficult to identify during preflight as the crack was located on the bottom (underside) of the wire.

    Broken Tail Flying Wire

Yesterday I experienced a broken tail wire while inflight. I did not know the tail wire broke until after I was shut down and began refueling… The incident happened while in level cruise flight and on auto pilot (2 axis). There was a sudden “pop”. My nose pitched slightly down and to the left...

    Gold Cube FT90 issue

Here is a picture from TSI FlightLines. It is uncommon for a IO-540 to have the boss under the fuel divider in order for this bracket to be mounted. Tom says almost all IO-360's have the boss. My IO-540 DOES have the boss. EDIT: I should add that Tom Swearengen (TS FlightLines) collaborated...

Vans FWF kit... Item list for an O-360 Engine?

Airflow Performance also carries Throttle / Mixture Cable Brackets. Since my fuel injection system is AFP, I went with theirs. https://airflowperformance.com/index.php/product-category/throttle-mixture-cable-brackets-parts/

    Lead Wool vs Lead Shot

Just a post build update... I was moving my 4 Place B Model last week. I noticed a "swooshing" sound somewhere in the left wing. Narrowed it down to the aileron. I quickly realized that the lead shot I used in the balance tube was leaking out. Not sure how this happened. During...

    Polycarbonate (Lexan) Skylight

Another look at my transition and gap cover from the wings to the skylight. The Lexan extends about 1.5" from the outside rivet line and the AL strip simply lays on top of the Lexan up to the rivet line and is secured to the wing edge with #6 PK screws. Before attaching the AL strip, I used...
