    Painting your airplane

How did you paint the wings, Struts, Cowlings, etc. of your airplane. How did you fix the part so you could paint it? Thx. RC

Wiring the MIC & Phone Jacks

I'm trying to wire up my jacks for the LSA. The plans for the MIC show a twisted pair of shielded wires; a mic PTT wire; and a ground. Now one of the twisted pair go to the Tip (mic), the other goes to the ring (audio); and the shielding goes to the sleeve (ground). The PTT wire gets connected...

    Elevator Pushrod Idler

I was preparing to cover the fuse bottom and got to looking at the Idler that near the baggage bulkhead. I noticed that there is no lube hole or any axle pins? A quick check of the plans does not mention anything either. Don't ask why I just now noticed. Is there supposed to be something to...

    "C" Case vs O-200 Dimensions

I have been offered the use of a Continental "C" crankcase and two cylinders to use when making the engine cowling. I think the "C" case will fit the O-200 engine mount but will need spacers to make the case long enough to use as a dummy for the cowling. How about some advise on this. Thanks...

    Side of Boot Cowl

The Side Boot Cowl goes from the Firewall back to "C", but at "B" it changes direction. There is a bend at "B" where the skin goes back to "C". I am unhappy with the way mine turned out. Would someone like to share how they managed that transition? Thx, RC

    Window/Door

I want to install the side windows. It is not clear to me how the Aluminum trim pieces are going to work, especially at the corners. Are they mitered? The "Back up" pieces are tapered? I just do not have the picture in my mind of what it is supposed to look like. Thx. RC

Need Hole Punch for Wing/Gas Tank Filler Neck?

I was given a 2 inch Greenlee hole punch. It makes a perfect and easy 2" hole in the top skin for the tank filler neck. I will LEND IT to you.

How to Install the Pitot Tube in a QB Wing

I am reluctant to just start cutting holes in the Leading Edge of the Wing. Sooo I thought I would ask for advice from builders how they installed their pitot tubes. It looks like it ought to go in the area where the lift strut comes into the wing. Thx. Rolly Clark

Bucking Rivets in the QB Wing

To get a bucking bar on the rivets in the QB wing is tricky. The guy with the bar needs a LONG arm. The foto in the builders manual shows 2 guys riveting the TOP skin, and the guy with the bar is standing between the TE Ribs and the Rear Spar. hmmm... Any suggestions? Rolly

Throttle Quadrant on LSA or Patrol

I am building an LSA. I need guidance on placement and installation of the throttle quadrants. I did not see anything in the plans, but I did find a fuzzy picture in the LSA Book that was showing the window latch and I could see what I thought was the throttle handle. Thanks.

    AeroQuip 303 Hose Ends

I know that this is common knowledge to a lot of you guys, but in case someone is struggling like me, here is how I solved the problem. I was trying to install the 491 hose fittings on the hose. I visited Eric Newton's site and noted his comments and fotos. After about 3 or 4 hours of...

    Fuel Selector Valve

What is the Selector Valve in Newton's Patrol? It looks to align easily with the Gascolator. The SPRL valve is very nice, but alignment is difficult. Thx.
