    Cabin noise level

Just returned from a 2 hour trip to dinner today. On the trip I took a sound level reading on the plane in cruise flight: 180 hp lyc with mt prop 2500 rpm 24.5 manifold pressure about 76 percent power and 10.5 gph about 115 knots true at 3000. I show 111 db at windshield level. If I position the...

    Northern Wisconsin

My wife and I had a great day with our Bearhawk today. We flew into a private airstrip (Lake Wood Lodge) with trees on both ends of the strip. Three notches of flap power off and we came down like a parachute. Two notches of flap with a 180 hp engine and we were off like a cub.

    Windy tie down

I got caught at another airport, tied down on the ramp with winds @ 24 gusting to 35 knots. My flaps would pull down and snap back up, ailerons flipped up and down, rudder the same for 8 hours as I decided that it was not worth the effort or risk moving the plane or try to fly out. We were...

    fairing

On the fairing between the wing and the fuselage, should there be screws on both side of the fairing. I have already prepared nut plates on the wing side of the fairing. Should one drill small holes into the square tube and and tap either 4-40 or use a small sheetmetal screw to keep the...

    Progress

Today I plan to move the plane to the airport to begin final assembly. The fuselage is complete and I feel like I have completed a major mile stone in the building process.
