  • Lightening Holes in False Spar?

Has anyone put lightening holes in the false spar behind the main fuel tank? All the pictures I've seen online it is solid, but I can't find any specific drawings or verbiage in the plans on whether it must be? I wouldn't mind having access to the area behind the false spar. My hands are too big to fit through the rear spar lightening holes.

I gave Bob a quick call on this issue. He said if your mindful of where you put the lightening holes in relation to where the 1/8" backer plates are positioned for the tank straps.....it should be fine.

Mike, thanks for checking w/ Bob on this - I had thought of it and then discounted it. Maybe I might yet, sure would've been much easier earlier though!
