Flap hinge alignment

Guys,

Working on getting my flight controls (flaps) hinged up. I am concerned about getting the hing line perfect. Because there are 3 hinges if they are not lined up perfect you will get a bind. I've located my steel as best I could but they are not 100% perfectly lined up. My question is how critical is it to have them lined up spot on? Can you make adjustments by sliding the rod-ends in or out?

What is the procedure you used to get everything lined up correctly?

I haven't got there yet, but I know a couple of other builders that made slight adjustments to the hinge position on the flap to get everything lined up. One even slotted the hinge (where it bolts to the flap) to make it easy to adjust.
