Wing Steel

Question on the wing steel, specifically the flap steel. As the flap torque tube rides in to chro-mo bushings and the tolerances are extremely tight can this tube be painted? Seems to me if I paint the torque tube I will not be able to get it through the bushing. Please advise. Thanks

I would assemble it in the wing and then paint it in place before you close up the wing skin. The part that is inside the bushings stays unpainted but is lubricated and the rest of it gets painted.
