  • Marking flanges on nose ribs...

This may be a dumb question, but how do you know what length to make the flanges for the nose ribs. I may be missing something in the plans, but I can't seem to find anything other than best guess. I'm sure it is a common sense answer, any help is appreciated. Andy

As Barry said, the width of the flanges are 9/16". If you are talking about where do you stop the flanges on the front of the nose rib, you have to measure off the drawing. Remember that all of the drawings are drawn very accurately to scale. The scale is noted on each drawing. I simply used engineering scales with the 20 scale. This allows you to read off the dimensions directly. You will need this many times. If you do not already have a set of engineering scales, go to any store that has drafting supplies and pick one up. They are only about $4.

Thanks guys. I have a set of scales. Like I figured it was a common sense answer. I was just over complicating it.
