  • 4 Place spar caps

I am having problems locating the material for the rear wing spar . I can only find 1/8 x 3/4 6061- t6 in only 12 foot lengths the plan calls for 165". Where is this material sourced? Also for the main spar I can only find 1/8 x 1 1/4 2024-t3 in 4' x 12' sheet. Can these spar caps be sheared from sheets? Thanks Peter Falkner plan # 1491b

It’s been a few years since I bought mine, but Wicks was the only place I could find it.

Vans Aircraft sheared mine. The edges needed filling but it worked out great.

Okay great, I have a local supplier who will shear the main spar cap strips. I wasn't sure if you could use sheared material there. As for the rear spar cap strips ( 1/8 x 3/4 ) 165" is a problem, only 12 foot length are available. I am going to contact my local supplier to see if 6061 t6 angle is available in longer lengths then 12 ' and I will cut caps strips from them
