  • Windshield Wing Former question

What is wrong with this picture?

I measured the top of the wing former above the front wing mounts and it is exactly the same as that on the wings, but the wing former seems to go much above where the curve in the windshield seems to be.

Does anyone have ideas on how to fix this?

    Thanks
    Hari

    Hi Hari

Double check your wing location etc.
The 1/2" square should be touching the top longeron just behind you window channel.
Mine is a two piece but the height should be the same.

Thanks Gavin! Will double check the wing mounting ear location.

      Your pictures are awesome!

The wing mounting holes on the ears welded to the fuselage are in line with the longeron center line.
Mounting hole on the wing main spar is exactly 2.5" below the top of the wing, and confirmed with the main spar drawing as well.

Still not clear what is missing. Why is the square tube not lining up nicely with the front of the fuselage, but going about 1/2" above.

          Hi ; Hari
Is the distance from main spar attach point to end of longeron correct ?
Are you using the actual wing for alignment or a" mock up" template ?

Thanks so much for the help Gavin, I figured out the problem. Apparently the template I had made earlier was not accurate, made a new one and it looks much better.
