I have spent the morning planning a locking mechanism and have seen almost all Rans, Highlanders etc are using the gas strut, so may swing back to that.

It took quite a pull to unlock the handle. Jumpers were always bumping into it, but never had it unlock.

We have the same handle on Dr. Dave's XP Hawk II with parachute door installed.
I have been the victim of it on a few occasions! Maybe I am just a klutz.
