    Bearhawk Walk

    Tuesday July 21, 2026
    Time: 2:00 pm
Meet at the Bearhawk Aircraft Booth.

We take a group walk across Airventure's grass fields in search of Bearhawks. Some are parked near the booth, others in EAB camping. Stay with us for as short or as far as you desire.... the Builder's/owners show us there Bearhawk. Last year I think we saw two Companions, two Four's, and three Patrols outside of the booth. This year I trust we'll see more Fives. Things get real interesting when the walkers start asking questions about what they notice or like.

Come prepared to get exercise and to fight dehydration and sunburn. This is a really encouraging collaborative group session that builds positive energy to invigorate your build back at the workshop.

Brooks, thanks for organizing this again this year. It really helps to see and talk to the other builders and owners and what they liked, didn't like, gotchas etc. I really enjoyed the Canadian group that had built several together, and there were several moments of "Oh that's a great idea!" and one of their replies was "Yeah, it took forever to do and wasn't worth it at all, we ended up not using/needing/wanting it". That kind of info is priceless.

To this day, I still love Dennis and Donna's "tail lights" in the wing tips that I learned about in the Bearhawk Walk

Yeah, They are very creative. For those who are wondering, Dennis and Donna installed the reaward facing White light element of the Red-Green-White Navigation lights in the trailing edge of their wing tip. Check it out this year at the Bearhawk Walk.

Thanks Brooks for organizing this. As I was building, I found these walks inspiring and helpful. Lots of photos taken with ideas….Things I would have never dreamed up. I am planning to be there with my Five that was deemed airworthy a few months after KOSH last year. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Brooks, it's great you organize the tour. I decided to take a week off of building and come to Oshkosh. I can't wait to meet fellow Bearhawk owners and pick all of your brains. I'm at that stage of building where I need to make the rest of the decisions. Seems like the big decisions were somewhat easier with fewer choices, but the hundreds of little decisions are overwhelming some days - seats, seatbelts, LEMO or standard jacks and where should they be placed, how many cup holders and where, panel (oh jeez), and the list goes on and on.

So a couple of days at Oshkosh and I'll punch through off the list. I'll try not to be a pest. Oh, and I guess I better bring my credit card.

        See everyone on Tuesday!
