  • Wing weight

    Hi everyone,

Does anyone have the weight of a finished wing handy, either QB or scratch built? I did some rough calcs today on raw aluminum, and I came up with about 112 pounds before rivets, steel, etc.

    Thanks!

Chris, I don't have any exact weight, but that sounds about right. When my dad and I move my right wing we were both pretty surprise at how light it was. That was the raw wing w/o flap or aileron or fuel tank though.

Thanks for your thoughts, Luke. I hadn't taken wing steel or fuel tanks into account in my calcs, either.

Anyone else had an opportunity to put your wings on a scale and get some hard numbers?

You didn't indicate which Bearhawk you wanted to know the wing weights for but my unpainted Patrol wings with fuel tanks installed but no flap or aileron was 125 lbs each.

Thanks for sharing that Eric. I forget I'm living in my own little 4-place world and forget there are two others :-)

No problem, also forgot to mention, that was without wing tips installed
