Hello everyone, sorry it took so long to find the forum! I am Eric Parks and am building a scratchbuilt 4 place Bearhawk with building partner Brent VanDervort.... or maybe I should say that Brent allows me to help a bit!!

Brent is the "building side" of the team as he has an extensive background in fabrications. He is well known in the hotrod world. I am coming from the "flying side" of the team and work as a professional pilot.

We took a day to go see Jared Yates' Bearhawk and get a ride. Since we only live about 90 minutes away it is an easy trip. What a great experience! First, thanks Jared for taking the time to share your Bearhawk and your time. We both very much liked getting our first Bearhawk rides after 8 years of building. Flying off Jared's home field was quite the experience by itself but of course the Bearhawk was the star.

We both were very glad that we really enjoyed flying in the Bearhawk since we have been working on one for 8 years! We were impressed by how nicely the Bearhawk (and Jared!) handled a "less than perfect" grass strip. Super day for both of us. Thanks Jared!

Both Brent and I have very little tailwheel time and it was quite a while ago. I have logged precious little light airplane time in the past decade or two so even with my high experience I hope I didn't embarrass myself too much in the air. We will both be getting tailwheel checkouts locally and then getting instruction from Jared when the time comes to fly our own Bearhawk.

I would like to highly recommend Jared if you are looking for someone to help you get comfortable in the Bearhawk as he is able to do legal instruction in it.

    Eric,

Welcome to the group. I am based out of the Florence SC area and travel throughout the Carolina for work.I have seen your pin on the builders map and though about making contact. It looks like you have made a lot of progress already on your project. Enjoyed seeing the photos and the write up in Beartracks. We will have to meet up some time.

Brent and I will be glad to show you the tour. Just give me a call (my number is on the Bearhawk map) and we will work it out. What engine are you thinking of using for the LSA?

I picked up an 0-200A that I plan to rebuild and use on the LSA.

Nice. I think that is the engine I would pick for the LSA. Not that I have time to thing about that!! Gotta get our 4 place flying first!
