  • Nose RIb Install

Just curious if anyone has installed the nose ribs on the front spar before loading the spar into the assembly jig. Seems like it would be more convenient now because I can control the working height.
Also is there any reason I cannot take the front spar root end attach holes (.375) out to full size now before loading the spar in the assembly jig.
    Thanks

I did the wing skeleton assembling on the table and would do so again. I plan to put off drilling attach holes out until mounting the wings.

I installed the nose ribs on the table. The trick is to make a good fixture for locating the nose rib..

Mr. Lathrup, got a photo of your fixture?
        Thanks

I also am ready to put the nose ribs on the spars before aligning the two spars in a jig. I am very satisfied that the straight edge of the nose ribs matches the mylar very well. Is that good enough to align nose ribs? When I built the RV, I put 1/4" all thread through the tooling holes to align them and I plan to do the same here.
