  • Titan O-370

Anyone using the stroked version of Titan's O-360? They claim 187 hp horses with an 8.3:1 compression ratio from 370 cubic inches. Anyone knowledgeable about advantages/disadvantages of more cubic inches vs.higher compression? I believe they also sell a 9.0:1 ratio O-360 that makes similar hp. I'm still deciding on an engine for my Patrol.

Bob told me the higher compression cylinders aren't great in the smaller block engines, in my case the -540 and discussion 8.5:1 vs standard compression ratio. Apparently you want the heavier -K or -J blocks with the larger bearing housing.
His opinion was the higher compression cylinders would be less likely to make TBO, whereas the standard compression engines usually run well past TBO if properly cared for.
