Just wondering what the masses are doing when welding the upper sections of the gear legs. I understand basically whats happening but would like some clarification on a point or two. Weld the .100 flat piece to the 9/16" bushing stock both sides; cut the end of the tubing to match the angle; cut slits in the tubing to accept the welded flat .100 and bushing stock; weld along the sides of the .100 to the tubing; come back one inch and cut and contour the tubing to the angle to the top of the bushing stock. Now, weld the contoured sides of the tubing to the bushing stock, clean up the weld to accept the .063 wrap and weld that on. Is it necessary to weld the contoured parts of the tubing that will be covered by the .063 wrap to the bushing stock before welding on the .063 wrap? Thanks
