Does anyone have any tips for obtaining a carb box for a O-540 Bearhawk.

You might see how they do it on the RV10. Lots of folks who have used the standard airbox complain about it. -

I've not used one, but I recall discussions about them cracking, wearing out the pivot points, etc. Being that the airbox shakes with the engine, it gets a lot of abuse hanging way out there. I've been happy with the Vans FAB on the 360 (though it hasn't been without occasional problems), and it may be that the same box would work with a 540. Let us know what you find out. With as many RV10s as there are out there, they have likely invented a pretty reliable wheel that doesn't need to be reinvented.Comment
