  • Fixing a hole in 4130

Guys, I have a hole in the wrong place on my steel straps for the wing strut attachment. Can I weld up that hole and re-drill or????

No. Make a new part, unless you can make a patch like on page 4-46, AC43-13-1B

Been there, got that wind chime...more than I would like!

I look at it this way: I didn't make three bad parts and the fourth was good. I practiced three times and got it right on the first try after all the practice.

I have to agree, with a part as critical as that, a re-make is in order. I had quite a large scrap pile os "practice" pieces myself when I was done with my Bearhawk. I still use metal from that scrap pile from time to time for various projects, mounts and such.
