Hello all, I’m still debating whic air vents I want to use on my 4 place. In my oldCessna 182 I had the wing vents and in my RV7 I have the NACA scoop in the fuselage side with the eyeball vents. Both seem to work fine to me but I’m looking for any pros or cons one way or the other. Thanks for any input.

I’d have used the NACA but didn’t like the necessary hose to the eyeball so went with the snap in side vent, both sides. Also have air coming from both wings. All this in a Patrol! As you can tell I like lots of cooling air. I have a tendency at my age to create my own personnel summers. ;-) You might also want to consider the needs of passengers while making this decision. If somebody starts getting air sic the best thing you can do at the time is lots of fresh air. I’ve seen some planes that have one in the skylite facing the back seat.

I use the naca inlets for cabin heat with good results. I have leading edge vents also. I like to have more cooling air over my upper body during hot weather and like the leading edge vents well because they provide more air around my upper body.

Fly girl you bring up a good point about the passengers. I didn’t even think of that but I’m not utilizing a skylight. Down here in southern Cal near the desert it often is over 100 degrees in the summer months and even in my RV7 the sun can get unbearable. A sunscreen helps a lot but I’m keeping the fabric cover overhead. However I think you’re correct in wanting to get air circulation to them. I think I will go with the leading edge vents as my passengers didn’t seem to complain with them in my 182. Thanks fellow Bearhawkers...
