  • Skinned the cargo door but.....

Today we cut and fit all the door skins for the cargo doors. As we finished the fitment I began to realize there arnt any tabs in that area. Is it structurally ok to pop rivet to the tube frame? Anyone have pics of their finish?

I drilled into the tubing and plan on using the sealed pop rivets on mine, I believe you can get them through Van’s.
i installed the gas strut for the front cargo door today and it works great.

I think Bob specifies drilling into the tube and threading it for #8 screws. Seemed to work fine for me. If I have problems with the threads not holding I’ll use sealed 1/8 pop rivets.

Ok thank you guys! Sounds like sealed rivets are the way to go!

I just used sheet metal screws. They plug the hole and are cheaper than sealed pop rivets (or any other pop rivets)
