  • Oratex preparation

For those of you that have used Oratex on a BH kit, my question is how did you prep the surface? The white powder coat on my kit is pretty thick, which is great for corrosion protection but bad for glue adhesion. I tried scuffing the metal with a scotchbrite pad but it did not scuff the powder coat at all. I put a pad on a rotary grinder and it did remove the coat but seemed pretty harsh. Any input on how you guys did it would be appreciated. Also I’m using the Oratex yellow, any suggestions on the best paint for not covered items such as the wheeel struts etc. thanks for your help.

Hi Tim. I can help you next week for an answer as to how my friend did it on my LSA. But the coating on the fuselage is NOT powder coated. It is epoxy paint. Mark
