curious about using car upholstery

I`m not near the upholstery stage...but was wondering is there a problem with using used car upholstery

there are a few wrecking yards near me with hundreds of cars...I was thinking cutting off upholstery from a seat of similar size and re-foam it

Just do a burn test on it, to see if it sustains flame or self-extinguishes. Also consider how much smoke it creates, and how toxic that smoke might be in an enclosed space.

Fortunately the Bearhawk is easy to ventilate, so the main concern is toxicity and self extinguishing. The volume of smoke may be less of a concern - could be a good indicator of a hidden problem
