Anyone else watch it? I had to get up at 1am over here, but it was worth it. But only added to the anticipation of the delivery next month. It was the first time I saw performance numbers for the Companion. 150mph at 75%…. Yowza! And I assume that is based on a 180hp, well Bob is building me a O-360 200hp so it should be amazing.

The 4 place, and I think from real world numbers I've seen the 5 and patrol will all easily do 150mph with normally faired stuff and small tires. I was past that on 8.00's.
I think I've got a photo on here at 135ktas with no gear leg fabric and 8.00's at 11gph.

I much prefer the rugged look of not covering the gear, but going with the 26” tires I don’t want the double whammy so I will fair the gear for speed. But if I can hit 140mph or higher on a cross country I will be thrilled. I am going with a ground adjustable prop from Sensenich so I will take the 10 minutes involved if I am going from home to Idaho for a fishing trip then change out to the STOL setting to head into the backcountry. If I only hit 115mph in the back country that is fine, most of the time that is too fast anyway.
