Airshow

Every two years (excepting Covid) there's an Airshow in Wanaka NZ "Warbirds over Wanaka". It's become very popular - this year the USAF sent a couple of F16's, and a C17. The USA Patriots Jet Team flew under the banner "American Eagles" in 4 NZ based L39's, and were one of the shows highlights.

Grant Bisset was team liaison officer so today Grant, Murray Paterson, and myself had the pleasure of taking them on a backcountry outing in the Bearhawks, thoroughly enjoyed by all. They left sporting Bearhawk caps and smiles all round.

Nev - Looks like you had a great day. One of those L39s was owned and rebuilt by the Alan Caudwell who helped me build my Bearhawk.

fuel burn on the IO 540 is more reasonable for the bank account though

Phil flew A4's, then the UK Airshow circuits in a Pitts. (My background was a little less exciting ). We met while flying the B777. Right about the fuel burn !
