  • Catto Constant Speed Prop Blades

Does any one have any experience with the blades Catto is offering for McCauley hubs? Virgil suggested I contact Catto. Blades for the 400 (3 blade) hubs have been out for a while. They will soon have blades available for the 200 series (2 blade) hub in 78 and 86” diameter. I have the WhirlWind 210 blades in mine and would like to try a different design/profile to see if I can get away from some noise they generate.
    Thanks

    Hey Steve,
Did you ever try the Catto prop? I am planning to order the Catto 78" 3 blade CS. Would love to hear some feedback.

No I didn’t try the Catto blades. I was able to try a new Trail Blazer for comparison and afterwards I was quite happy with what setup I have. The WW blades produce noticeably more static thrust than the Hartzell so I stayed with what I have. The harmonics were worse with the Hartzell but that wasn’t a viable comparison cause it wasn’t balanced. I contacted two individuals who have the Catto blades and everything related to me was positive.
