Save your marriage - get your plane covered in two weeks - give your wife back her garage stall! After watching Colby's YouTube videos and following Utah Jay's build posts, I decided to follow their lead and cover my Companion with Oratex. As I was ordering my materials and supplies, I discovered that Oratex offers a builder assist program where Chris Kenny of Alaska will travel to your house and provide as little or as much assistance as you want. In my case, I took a vacation and worked with Chris to cover the fuselage, tail feathers, and control surfaces. Chris has an excellent work ethic and his attention to detail is outstanding. The most difficult area to cover is where the fuselage transitions to the vertical stabilizer, and Chris did an amazing job as evident by the photos posted below. For me, I just saved a lot of time and frustration and am looking forward to mounting my engine and starting the FWF.

I met Chris at Oshkosh - very nice guy! My Oratex is getting shipped today from Germany to Ireland and going to use their 'engineered design change' which means epoxied beech cap strips and no stitching needed....maybe the Alaska guys don't offer that yet? BTW they use this on Pitts Special aerobatic machines now so I guess its well tough enough!
