  • World is a small place, and aviation rocks.

The world is a small place, especially after introducing social media to it.

And, of the US population, 0.15% are pilots. (All rankings, student to ATP).

Of that .015%, 15-20% of them have saved up and own their own or built their own GA aircraft.

And then, somewhere between 10-15% of that group might own or be building a “bush” plane such as a Bearhawk. This translates to roughly 1.5-4% of pilots(that small 0.15% group) are into an adventure plane such as ours.

And yet, on any given day, Sunday or not, you will run into people in aviation that you know. How cool is that. Aviation is incredible.

On my recent trip back to OK from Florida I stop by a great little random airport for fuel. The gentleman pictured below parks his 150 and walks over to chat. Turns out his son has a Bearhawk, and is building a new hangar because the prior hangar was destroyed in a fire. I look at him and ask, your son doesn’t happen to be Jared Yates does he? Why yes, yes he does.

    Small world indeed. IMG_1492.jpg
