The airplane is not an LSA — licensing an airplane as a Light requires all kinds of engineering data, testing and certification, as well as a prototype that has demonstrated compliance with all the light sport design, structural, and performance standards. What it is, by virtue of meeting weight and performance criteria, is an EAB airplane that can be flown a Light Sport pilot.
